He was the second child of four born to Charles Choncie and Violet Berthelson Mangus. - He is preceded in death by his older sister, Peggy Jean and his youngest brother Charles Wayne. Bert's Brother Jay Mangus survives and resides in Worland, WY. Married Evelyn FRICKLE of Hardin, Montana.. To this eternal union were born three sons, Marlon Dean (Susan) of Noblesville, IN, Bryan Kirk (Colleen) of Warner Robbins, GA, and Shon Clark (Honey) of Billings, MT. In addition Bert has been able to enjoy the lives of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Born to German parents, Hitler demanded all Germans return to Germany where Elwira was reared and educated. Elwira married Verlyn L. OLSON, a young soldier serving in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Elwira immigrated to the United States in 1955, and became a naturalized citizen in 1959. . Survivors include her husband, Verlyn of Wheatland; four children, Katherine Raquet of Cheyenne, Rosemarie Russell of Scottsbluff, Evelyn Kessinger of Butlerville, Ind., and Vern Olson Jr. of Wheatland; three brothers, Albert, Johannes, and Siegmund Martin, all of Germany; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. W.E. "Mack" Meckenstock - 1915-2008 - Known as "Mack" to his friends, most people did not know his given name was Wilbur Emery; only his mother called him "Wilb," a fond reminder of Wilbur. Born (March 22, 1915; Enterprise, KS) and he passed away (November 16, 2008; Hays, KS). He was 93. Wilbur was the grandson of German and Irish immigrants, and the sole child of Otto Charles Meckenstock and Maude Hart. Married Alma BERNDT. He told his four children many stories of his college years; how he drove a four mule team on a scraper one winter vacation to help build a section of road on Highway 183 south of Glade. And when a dust storm hit Hays during a basketball game at Sheridan Coliseum he and his friends had to hold hands to find their way down the alley to get home. Survivors include a daughter Lea A. Although she never married and had no children, she influenced hundreds of young people through her love of bowling. . Helen's friends in the community numbered in the hundreds from her contacts at the post office, the banks and her volunteer work. She enjoyed being of service to her business clients, fellow volunteers, and friends. She will be missed by several generations of Salinans.

LAUREL - Victor Miller entered the Lord's passed away on May 15, 2008. Born June 19, 1920, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Jacob and Elizabeth (Michaels) Miller who were both of German descent. His father, Jacob, immigrated to the hopes of America from Dittle, Russia; a little town off the Volga River. Jacob married Elizabeth Michaels, and they raised their children, Ester, Victor, Marie, Ruthie, Herman and Lydia. At the early age of 9, Vic beheld the harshness of life when his mother succumbed to pneumonia. father. Married Faith BIRDFARAWAY, also of Lodge Grass and of Crow Indian descent. To this union were children: Glenn, Charitina, William, Stephen, Tomi and Brandon. The marriage dissolved. .May his memory live on in his grandchildren: Glenn, David, Shannon, Amber, Lonny, Teyon, Misty Blue, Blake, Candice, Chad, Cameron, Jyton and Jevon.

STEINLE - Dorothy Steinle, age 90, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007. Born Dorothy Moeck in Nortonville, Kansas, on November 6, 1916, and married Rev. B. A. HOBRATSCHK in 1938. Pastor Hobratschk served Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro from 1953-1963, and died in 1969. Dorothy and her husband Edwin STEINLE lived in Hillsboro, Kansas, for 27 years until Ed passed away in 2001. Surviving are children Donald and Lois Hobratschk of Sun City Center, Florida, John and Linda Hobratschk of Jefferson City, Missouri, Stephen and Berneal Hobratschk Flach of Menlo Park, California; stepdaughter Barbara Steinle Goodale and husband Kevin of Blue Springs, Missouri; stepson Gary Steinle and wife Bonnie Wichita; grandchildren Mark, Marcia, Matthew, Johanna, Shelly, Deon, David, Westin; and great grandchildren Alyson, Julia, Danielle, Hannah, Seth, Luke, Hallie, Seth Andrew, and Ellen Lynn. Leona Marie Schwartz, age 78, passed away in Billings on Oct. 28, 2008. Leona was born the third child of seven on Feb. 18, 1930, the daughter of Arthur and Katie (Raab) Morast, on her parents' homestead north of Terry. Married Richard SWARTZ. He passed away in 1985. Another wonderful man entered her life and, in 1988, Leona married Norv SELL. Norv passed away on April 15, 2005. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; and her three brothers, Robert, Melvin and Lloyd. Survivors include Marianne (Dennis) Granlie of Great Falls, Richard (Kathy) Schwartz of Glendive, Debby (Chuck) Hayter of Billings and Todd (Deb) Schwartz, of Glendive; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tillie (Gene) Beckers of Plentywood, Esther (Norm) Anderson of Glendive; one brother, Jerry (Arlene) Morast of Fallon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
