Also deceased are his parents, sister Ericka Stucky, sister Elsie Allison and infant brother Ronald. Bernice "Bebe" Wiesner, 83, Ellis, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Hays Medical Center. She was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Hays to Joseph F. and Rosa B. (Niernberger) Wiesner. She was a 1943 graduate of Ellis High School. She was the owner of Wiesner Department Store in Ellis, retiring in 1985. She was very dedicated to the beautification of Ellis and the preservation of Ellis history. Survivors include four sisters, Edna Mae Delva and Dorothy Rupp, both of Denver, Lucille Flanders, Muscatine, Iowa, and Mary Ann Crosbie, Modesto, Calif.; 22 nieces and nephews; and family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clarence and Alfred. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; private family inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a Daughters of Isabella rosary, both at the church. HOFFMAN, MARY KATHERINE (WOLFE-NUSZ) 1858-1933 - Mrs. Mary Hoffman, maiden name Wolf , was born on May 2, 1858 in Dobrinka, Russia. She was united to George Peter Nusz in 1874. Fourteen children were born to them, 2 of the preceding their mother in death. Mrs. Hoffman immigrated to America with her former husband, George P. NUSZ in the year 1886 and lived in Marion, Kansas. Mr. Nusz died in 1920. In 1925, Mrs. Nusz was united in marriage to Fred HOFFMAN. living in Okeene, Oklahoma. She passed away on August 23, 1933. She leaves to mourn her husband, Fred Hoffman, 12 children, 57 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Note: She was born in Dobrinka, Russia to Georg Friedrich Wolf and Catherine Elisabeth Geier of Dobrinka, Russia also. Georg F. Wolf's parents were Georg Adam Wolf and Eva Barbara Rau.

Ewald Rudolph Wuschke - January 20, 1929 ­ November 7, 2008 - Born in a wooden shack on a homestead at Mankota, Sask. Married Maria SCHULZ. Ewald had a life-long passion for genealogy. He published a genealogical magazine called ³Wandering Volhynians² and helped many people with German backgrounds from Poland and Volhynia discover their family roots. Ewald is predeceased by his father Gustav, his mother Adelgunde, and his sister Ida. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria; his children: Ewald Jr (Grace), Arthur (Mary), Caroline, Garth, and Kenneth (Cheryl); and seven grandchildren: Christine, Jennifer, Kent, Heather, Sarah, Reid, and Tomas. Ewald is also survived by brothers and sisters: Frederick, Reinhold, Leon, Eva and Elvira.
