To them were born 12 children, seven of whom preceded their father in death. Surviving are three sons: Chris of Wilson; Jake, who lives in Montana; and Paul, of Kanopolis; and two daughters: Laura Hilgenberg of Bunker Hill, and Hannah Brown of Wilson; also a sister Martha Wasmuth of Chicago and 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
