Survivors include: one son, Radell (Nancy) Koehn, Galva; two daughters, Jerelyn (Wayne) Troyer and Robena (Steve) Ratzlaff, all of Galva; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Twila (Ernie) Koehn, Moundridge.

Charles R. Becker, 71, of Springerton, passed away at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital emergency room in McLeansboro.  Born in Hamilton County on Dec. 14, 1938, a son of Tony and Helen (Gidcumb) Becker. He married MAE EVELYN RUSH on Oct. 17, 1959, and she survives.  In addition to his wife, Mae Becker, he is survived by two sons, Steven Becker and wife Linda of McLeansboro and Mark Becker and wife Robin of Springerton; daughters, Kimberly Sallee and husband Kent of Norris City and Staci Rubenacker and husband Tony of Mount Vernon, Ind.; brothers, William R. Becker and wife Phyllis of Norris City and Paul Becker and wife Betty of McLeansboro; sisters, Pauline Ingram and husband Joe of McLeansboro and JoAnn Price and husband Larry of Enfield; and six grandchildren, Sarah and Stephanie Becker, Matthew Sallee, Amanda Sallee-Nelson and Dustan and Dylan Rubenacker.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Terri Lynn Becker.

Born on March 2, 1928, in Fresno, Ca. to Peter and Helen Becker.   Married GAY HAUPT, and they shared 39 loving years together.   Survived by his wife Gay Becker; his daughters, La Tricia Payton and her husband Larry, Debra Irby and her husband Don, Cindy Boyadjian, Terri Becker- Denney and her husband John, and Jerri Becker; his granddaughter, Shelby Payton.

He died May 22, 1964.  Survivors include: one son, Mel and wife Kathy Becker of Moundridge; sisters, Elizabeth Koehn and Molly Yost, both of Macon, Miss.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Married ERNEST C. HOMEWOOD on July 24, 1935. Later she was united in marriage to ELVIE GRAY in 1977. Elvie also preceded her.  Surviving family include three children: Lois F. Boyd of Russell, Kansas, David Homewood and wife June of Russell, Kansas and Rodney Homewood and wife Chaunda of Skiatook, Oklahoma; sister, Esther Kornmeyer and husband Roy of North Dakota; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Vera Karst, son Benton Homewood, five brothers and 3 sisters.

Bender, 89, of Shattuck, was born Sept. 17, 1920, south of Shattuck to Alexander and Maria Krentz Bender and died Thursday, March 25, 2010.  Surviving are his wife, Zelpha; her children, David and Peggy, of the home; one son, Keith Bender of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Kathy Bender Bonham of Ardmore; one son, Gregory Bender of Kingfisher; one stepdaughter, Chris Hamby of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by four brothers; six sisters; and two wives, CHRISTINE CAZZELL BENDER and ROSE PEIL BENDER

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Dorothy Jean (Benzel) Taylor, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010.   Born June 19, 1939, in Scottsbluff to Pete and Lydia Benzel.   Married GERALD TAYLOR July 26, 1958 .   Survivors include her husband of 52 years; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby (Hung, Mei Chuan) Taylor of Flagstaff; daughters and their spouses, Debbie Taylor (Joyce Beaman) of Flagstaff, Cheryl Matheny (Craig) of Anaheim, Calif., Stacey Foley (Dennis) of Anaheim Calif.; brother, Clarence Benzel of Washington; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and her first granddaughter Sandy Taylor of Garden Grove, Calif.  Our mother was very close to her nieces and nephews living in Nebraska, Barb Minge (Harold) of Gering, John Takuski (Patty) of Henry, Diana McAllister of Alliance and Gary Takuski (Camille) of Mitchell, as well as her niece Shirley Goebel (Lucky) of Plano, Texas and her close and dearest friend, Elaine Dittman of 66 years.   Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Harold and Harvey and sisters Rosie Takuski and Darlene Reib.

 MINATARE – Ruben Bernhardt, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.    Born July 30, 1922, in a farmhouse north of Mitchell the son of George and Kathryn (Hizel) Bernhardt.   Married DAISEY KIRK March 17, 1948.  Divorced in 1971. In 1972, Ruben and Lorene Rose became companions until her passing in 2001.  Survivors include his son, Jerry (and Jenny) Bernhardt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Greg (JaeAna) Bernhardt of Las Vegas, Nev., Sarah Bernhardt (Seth Leypoldt) of Chadron, Jeff (Hazuki) Bernhardt of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Andrew Bernhardt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; great-grandchildren: Logan and Martina Bernhardt of Las Vegas; Emma, Cora and Olivia Leypoldt of Chadron; and Ayata Bernhardt of Honolulu; Lorene's children, Lloyd Rose of Haig, Bonnie (Andy) Jackson of Missoula, Mont., and Don (Nikki) Rose of Mitchell, and their children Emily and Alex.
