Alice Theresa Windholz, 91, passed away January 20, 2010 at Hays.   Born on September 6, 1918 in Severin, KS, the 5th of 12 children of Frank Walters and Monica (Koerner) Walters. Additional Information -   Alexander was my  (Brandia Kutchek) grandfather. In addition to the obit info I know he was born in Wiesenmuller, Samara, Russia. He immigrated to the US in 1913 with his mother. They stayed in Oshkosh, WI for a few years and then moved to Detroit, MI. His parents were Alexander Wamboldt & Maria Katarina (Jung) Wambold, both of Wiesenmuller. Alexander had 3 wives total. The first was MADELINE CAPELLE, they had one son James Wamboldt, who proeceeded him in death. The 2nd wife is unknown. The third is Ann D. Hanson.

Survivors include four brothers, Larry Weber and Sil Weber, both of Salina, Martin Weber, Oakley, and Al Weber, Park; three sisters, Magdalena Gassmann and Odilia Riedel, both of Park, and Marie Meier, Hoxie; and many nieces and nephews, including Father Keith Weber, Manhattan, and Father Kevin Weber, Hays.

Thelma G. Hanschu, 71, of Salina, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.   Born April 13, 1938, in Mountain Home, Ark., the daughter of John and Esther (French) Wells.  On Aug. 11, 1957, she married HAROLD HANSCHU. He survives.  Survivors include her husband, of the home; four sons, Kevin (Diana) Hanschu and Kim Hanschu, all of Wichita, Kelly (Udey) Hanschu, of Minoa, N.Y., and Kris (Cheri') Hanschu, of McPherson; three sisters, Wanda Lee Wells, of Wichita, Mayme Wells, of Orlando, Fla., and June Feazell, of Mountain Home; seven granddaughters, Jessica (Seth) Laska and Michelle, Bryanna, Amber, Carissa, Chantalle, Michelle and Janaye Hanschu; three stepgrandchildren, Tim Jr., Matt and Jordan Kroeger; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.   Preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Wells, Mae Lawrence and Crystal Wells.

"Al" Wendler, 60, of Hutchinson, died Oct. 17 (2010) .  Born Oct. 10, 1950, in Hays, the son of Anthony "Tony" and Genevieve Stoecklein Wendler.   Married MARIETTA GIESSEL on Aug. 25, 1972. She survives.  Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Aaron Wendler and his wife Jill, and Mark Wendler, all of Hutchinson; a daughter, Alicia Wendler, Ph.D., of Lawrence; a sister, Lora Olivier and husband Bob of Great Bend; his mother, Genevieve Wendler, Great Bend; and four grandchildren, Dason, Will, Evan and Jules.   Preceded in death by his father and a sister, Susan Wendler. Cremation has taken place.
