The obituary project helps link families as additional dates and details are needed on many family research projects. Rachel Smith entered hundreds of obituaries, funeral cards, headstone information and related material on computer and continues to add data when received.
Village coordinators contribute obits; however, many have been received from family reseachers. If you have obits to contribute to this project, contact Rachel at rac530@aol.com. Because of the large number of obits received, only family information is listed at this website. Often found on obits but not included here are occupation, where the family lived, church and civil organizations, funeral arrangements. If you want a complete copy of the obituary, send $2.00 for the first obit, and $1.00 for each additional obit to Rachel Smith, 2834 Laura, Wichita, KS 67216. This will help with copy and postage costs.
Note that the category date below is when an obituary was submitted, and may not be the year in which a persons death occurred.
